Alabama Hill is a predominantly residential neighborhood that is well established, with homes built primarily in the 1960’s and 1970’s. As you drive up Alabama, the primary attraction becomes obvious, as many of the homes have incredible and sweeping views of the city of Bellingham, Bellingham bay, and even the San Juan Islands.

Alabama Hill is also popular for people with an active lifestyle. Similar to the bordering Roosevelt neighborhood, the interurban trail system weaves in and out of the streets of Alabama Hill, providing trail access within literally a block of just about every home. The trail system moves north towards Barkley Village, and to the south, it leads directly into Whatcom Falls Park. For runners and recreational bikers, Whatcom Falls Park is an incredible 241-acre park space to enjoy. The access to Whatcom Falls Park can then lead you to Galbraith Mountain. So bike enthusiasts can be on Galbraith within 15 minutes from Alabama Hill.

Alabama Hill is also walking distance to Big Rock Garden and Lake Whatcom’s most popular public park Bloedel Donovan Park. Bloedel also has a boat launch, making Alabama Hill ideal for those looking for quick access to the lake.

Best Neighborhood features:
