Everson Washington is a rural town about 16 miles east of Bellingham and 9 miles from the Canadian border crossing. When we think of Everson, we think of a small-town feel, with homes on acreage, many with views of the Cascade foothills. It is a beautiful, quiet and sunny area offering lower price points than Bellingham, and also slightly lower prices than nearby Lynden. New residential developments have grown in recent years, providing more housing choices.

The bordering town of Nooksack has similar features as Everson, but just with a different post office. The merging of these two areas is called the Nooksack Valley.

Similar to Lynden, this town was founded by Dutch settlers farming the area. Fruit and berry farms still play a major role in the local economy here. But Everson also has a timber industry and has evolved into a far more rural & “blue-collar” town compared to Lynden.

Downtown’s most popular restaurant has long been Jack Niemans Steakhouse. There is also an Agricrultural store, and all of the amenities needed for day-to-day.

-Sunny area, and many properties offering views of the foothills of the Cascades. Some homes further south offer a view of Mt. Baker.

Possible trade-offs:

-15 to up 40 minutes (depending on location) commute to Bellingham and I-5 access.

-Downtown has a grocery store and several restaurants but lacks the amenities of Bellingham, or even nearby Lynden.
